E20- XBOX One, PS4, WiSee, & Mac Pro | Red-Headed Geek Show

Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo and Apple. So much news this week from the giants of the gaming and software industry! E3 this week had all cards laid out on the table. Microsoft opened the show announcing a new Xbox 360 before getting into what everyone wanted to hear about, the Xbox One. The preview given a few weeks ago was not very different than what Microsoft gave us at E3. The console will cost $499, is not backwards compatible, will not play used games, is online-only and on it goes. Sony presented the PS4 and the crowd was quite pleased. Used games are accepted, sharing, trading and selling games is as well. It was quite obvious who stole the show, yet for many who have been following the topic for a while, not a surprise.

Nintendo held a separate stream called Nintendo Direct on their website where they released the latest titles for the Wii and WiiU. A new Super Smash Brothers was announced with an exciting new addition of Mega Man. A new generation of Mario Kart and Super Mario 3D, Zelda and other anticipated titles were exposed.

At the their Worldwide Developer's Conference, Apple came to the stage with more than just discussion about the next iPhone. A new desktop computer, the Mac Pro, is a cylindrical beast of a machine. Despite it's look, it is packed with power and memory. The iOS 7 is allegedly the biggest change to the iPhone since the first one! It will look very sleek and clear, and it's interface is designed for easier control. Siri will have a male voice option (because we have all been waiting for that) and an iTunes radio is on its way.

WiSee, a gesture recognition receiver made to control devices in your home, is unlike any gesture invention so far. It uses Wi-Fi signals, which because they are so minute are easily transmissible through walls. Users are able to turn off lights, televisions, ovens and more with the WiSee. Each gesture is programmed to control a specific device. Having a smart home may be the next trend!
