Installation and Removal Instructions
Latitude 9440 2-In-1 Palmrest Keyboard Assembly

Before you begin: If you need help at any point, you can always contact Parts-People Repair Department for help with your diagnosis or repair.

Step 1

Unscrew and remove the Bottom Base Cover (6 x captive screws).

Step 2

Disconnect the battery cable.

Step 3

  • Disconnect the battery cable.
Unscrew and remove the WiFi bracket (1 x captive screw).

Step 4

  • Unscrew and remove the WiFi bracket (1 x captive screw).
  • Disconnect and unroute the antenna cables.

Unscrew the left and right Cooling Fans (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Step 5

  • Unscrew the left and right Cooling Fans (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).
  • Peel away the tape to expose the fan connectors.

Unclip the fan connector locking tabs.

Step 6

  • Unclip the fan connector locking tabs.
  • Remove the Cooling Fans.

Unscrew and remove the Battery (6 x

Unscrew and disconnect the left and right Speakers (4 x 1.6mm x 1.8mm).

Step 8

  • Unscrew and disconnect the left and right Speakers (4 x 1.6mm x 1.8mm).

Unscrew and remove the SSD shield (1 x 1.2mm x 1.5mm).

Step 9

  • Unscrew and remove the SSD shield (1 x 1.2mm x 1.5mm).
  • Slide out the SSD.

Unscrew and remove the display cable/USB-C bracket (2 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Step 10

  • Unscrew and remove the display cable/USB-C bracket (2 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Unclip the locking tabs and disconnect the LCD cables.

Step 11

  • Unclip the locking tabs and disconnect the LCD cables.

Unscrew the left and right LCD hinges (6 x M2.5 x 4mm).

Step 12

  • Unscrew the left and right LCD hinges (6 x M2.5 x 4mm).
  • Separate the display assembly from the palmrest assembly.

Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the power button cable.

Step 13

  • Unclip the locking tab and disconnect the power button cable.

Unscrew and remove the Motherboard (6 x 1.6mm x 2mm) (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).

Step 14

  • Unscrew and remove the Motherboard (6 x 1.6mm x 2mm) (4 x 1.6mm x 3mm).
  • ***THE HEATSINK CAN REMAIN ATTACHED TO THE MOTHERBOARD.

Unscrew and remove the power button bracket (1 x 1.6mm x 2mm).

Step 15

  • Unscrew and remove the power button bracket (1 x 1.6mm x 2mm).
  • Remove the power button.

The remaining piece is the palmrest keyboard assembly.

  • The remaining piece is the palmrest keyboard assembly.
