Installation and Removal Instructions
Precision 3561 Heatsink/Cooling Fan Assembly

Before you begin: If you need help at any point, you can always contact Parts-People Repair Department for help with your diagnosis or repair.

Step 1

Use a Phillips Screwdriver to unscrew the

Use a Phillips Screwdriver to unscrew the Use a Plastic Scribe to pry apart and remove the Bottom Base Cover.Use a Phillips Screwdriver to unscrew the
Disconnect the Battery.

Step 3

Disconnect the Battery.Disconnect the Battery.
Loosen the captive Heatsink/Cooling Fan Assembly screws.

Step 4

  • Loosen the captive Heatsink/Cooling Fan Assembly screws.
  • NOTE: If your model has Discrete Graphics there will be 6 captive screws and if your model has UMA Graphics there will be 4 captive screws.
  • Remove the remaining cooling fan screws (2 x M2 x 4mm).
  • Disconnect and remove the heatsink/cooling fan assembly.
Loosen the captive Heatsink/Cooling Fan Assembly screws.NOTE: If your model has Discrete Graphics there will be 6 captive screws and if your model has UMA Graphics there will be 4 captive screws.Remove the remaining cooling fan screws (2 x M2 x 4mm).Disconnect and remove the heatsink/cooling fan assembly.
IF REPLACING THE HEATSINK: Wipe off the old thermal paste. Then add a small dot of new thermal paste before screwing back on the heatsink.

Step 5

  • IF REPLACING THE HEATSINK: Wipe off the old thermal paste. Then add a small dot of new thermal paste before screwing back on the heatsink.
  • ***FOLLOW THESE STEPS IN REVERSE TO REINSTALL YOUR PART.
