Instructions to Locate Your Service Tag Dell Precision Laptop
Step 1
This tutorial we will show you how to find the Service Tag for your Dell Precision.
Step 2
A Dell Service Tag is a unique 7-character code that identifies your laptop in case you need:
1. Technical Support
2. Warranty Information
3. Part Replacements

METHOD 1: In most cases, the Service Tag is located on the bottom base cover. However, some Precision models have a system badge that needs to be lifted to reveal your Service Tag.

METHOD 2: Another way to find your Dell Precision Service Tag is through the system BIOS/UEFI.
When powering on your laptop tap the F2 key.
Your Service Tag is typically located in the general system information section.
Step 5
METHOD 3: In the Windows search bar, type "CMD" to open Command Prompt.
Then type "WMIC BIOS GET SERIALNUMBER" and press ENTER.
This should reveal your Service Tag.
Step 6
METHOD 4: Your can also use our Serial Number detection tool on the front page of www.parts-people.com.
Click the "Detect Automatically" button to download and run the tool (no installation is needed).
Step 7
METHOD 4 (CONT.): Once detected it will show your Service Tag and take you to a list of compatible replacement parts for your model.

METHOD 5: Finally, you can download and install SupportAssist from www.dell.com/support.
Once installed and ran, the app will display your laptop's model and Service Tag.
