Step 1
- This tutorial we will show you how to find the Service Tag for your Dell Precision.


Step 2
- A Dell Service Tag is a unique 7-character code that identifies your laptop in case you need:
- 1. Technical Support
- 2. Warranty Information
- 3. Part Replacements


Step 3
- METHOD 1: In most cases, the Service Tag is located on the bottom base cover. However, some Precision models have a system badge that needs to be lifted to reveal your Service Tag.


Step 4
- METHOD 2: Another way to find your Dell Precision Service Tag is through the system BIOS/UEFI.
- When powering on your laptop tap the F2 key.
- Your Service Tag is typically located in the general system information section.


Step 5
- METHOD 3: In the Windows search bar, type "CMD" to open Command Prompt.
- Then type "WMIC BIOS GET SERIALNUMBER" and press ENTER.
- This should reveal your Service Tag.


Step 6

- Click the "Detect Automatically" button to download and run the tool (no installation is needed).


Step 7
- METHOD 4 (CONT.): Once detected it will show your Service Tag and take you to a list of compatible replacement parts for your model.


Step 8
- METHOD 5: Finally, you can download and install SupportAssist from www.dell.com/support.
- Once installed and ran, the app will display your laptop's model and Service Tag.
