In this Dell laptop tutorial we are going to show you how to install and replace the LCD Panel on your Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop.   • 1 x small phillips head screw driver
  • 1 x small plastic scribe

Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Inspiron 1420 LCD Screen

Slide the 2 battery latches towards the outside of the laptop.

Step 1

  • Slide the 2 battery latches towards the outside of the laptop.
  • Slide the battery out.
Turn the laptop over and open it up as wide as possible.

Step 2

  • Turn the laptop over and open it up as wide as possible.
  • Remove the screw hole covers.
Remove the 6 bezel screws.

Step 3

  • Remove the 6 bezel screws.
  • Starting at the bottom, carefully unsnap the bezel working your way around the screen.

Remove the (2) 2.5mm x 5mm screws.

Step 4

  • Remove the (2) 2.5mm x 5mm screws.
  • Unplug the camera cable.
Remove the (2) 2.5mm x 5mm screws. Unplug the camera cable.
Carefully lift the screen out of the back assembly.

Step 5

  • Carefully lift the screen out of the back assembly.
  • Lay the screen onto the keyboard and unplug the display cable.
  • Unplug the inverter cable.
Carefully lift the screen out of the back assembly.Lay the screen onto the keyboard and unplug the display cable.
Lift the screen away from the laptop.

Step 6

  • Lift the screen away from the laptop.
Remove the (3) 2mm x 3mm screws and LCD rails from the left and right side of the screen.

Step 7

  • Remove the (3) 2mm x 3mm screws and LCD rails from the left and right side of the screen.
The remaining piece is the LCD Panel.

Step 8

  • The remaining piece is the LCD Panel.
