  • 1 x small phillips head screwdriver

Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Inspiron 1420n DVD Drive

Slide the 2 battery latches towards the outside of the laptop.

Step 1

  • Slide the 2 battery latches towards the outside of the laptop.
  • Slide the battery out.
Remove the 2.5mm x 5mm optical drive retaining screw.

Step 2

  • Remove the 2.5mm x 5mm optical drive retaining screw.
  • Using the tip of a screw driver, slide the optical drive bracket to the left.
Remove the 2.5mm x 5mm optical drive retaining screw. Using the tip of a screw driver, slide the optical drive bracket to the left.
Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.

Step 3

  • Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.
