Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Latitude D630 ATG LCD Display Screen Rail

Slide the battery down and lift out of the laptop.

Step 1

  • Slide the battery latches to the left and the right.

The WXGA+ cable will work fine with a WXGA screen but the WXGA cable will not work with a WXGA+ screen. Before buying parts it is important to atleast find out the cable part number to insure you order the correct resolution screen.**

Step 2

On the right side of the power button cover, use a flat head screw driver to lift and unsnap the power button cover.

Step 3

  • Open the laptop as wide as possible, approximately 180 degrees.
  • On the right side of the power button cover, use a flat head screw driver to lift and unsnap the power button cover.
  • Working from right to left, unsnap the power button cover and lift it from the laptop.
Carefully lift the keyboard up, flip it over, and rest it on the palm rest.

Step 4

  • Unscrew the (3) 2mm x 3mm screws.
  • Carefully lift the keyboard up, flip it over, and rest it on the palm rest.

Unplug the keyboard cable by lifting the blue ribbon straight up.

Step 5

  • Unlatch the keyboard cable retaining clip by pivoting the blue clip up.
  • Unplug the keyboard cable by lifting the blue ribbon straight up.

Unscrew the (6) 2.5mm x 5mm x 1.5mm bezel screws.

Step 6

  • Remove the screw hole covers.
  • Unscrew the (6) 2.5mm x 5mm x 1.5mm bezel screws.
Unscrew the (6) 2.5mm x 5mm x 1.5mm bezel screws. Remove the screw hole covers.
Starting at the bottom of the LCD screen, lift the bezel until it unsnaps and work your way around the edge of the screen.

Step 7

  • Starting at the bottom of the LCD screen, lift the bezel until it unsnaps and work your way around the edge of the screen.
Unplug and remove the LCD cable from the channel routing. The LCD motherboard connection is located under the keyboard.

Step 8

  • Unplug and remove the LCD cable from the channel routing. The LCD motherboard connection is located under the keyboard.
Unscrew the (6) 2.5mm x 5mm screws at the bottom of the screen.

Step 9

  • Unscrew the (2) 2mm x 3mm screws at the top of the screen.
  • Unscrew the (6) 2.5mm x 5mm screws at the bottom of the screen.
Unscrew the (6) 2.5mm x 5mm screws at the bottom of the screen. Unscrew the (2) 2mm x 3mm screws at the top of the screen.
Remove the screen rails.

Step 10

  • Unscrew the (8) 2mm x 3mm rail screws on the left and right side of the screen.
  • Remove the screen rails.
