Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Latitude E7240 LCD Hinge

Lift the battery out of the laptop.

Step 1

  • Slide the latch over to unlock the battery.
  • Lift the battery out of the laptop.

Remove the hinge cover.

Step 2

  • Remove the screws.
  • Remove the hinge cover.
Remove the hinge cover.Remove the screws.
Slide the access door down.

Step 3

  • Remove the screws.
  • Slide the access door down.
  • Remove the access door.

Unplug the keyboard cable.

Step 4

  • Loosen the plastic cover.
  • Unplug the keyboard cable.
  • Remove the bottom keyboard screws.

Remove the bottom hinge screws.

Step 5

  • Remove the bottom palmrest screws.
  • Remove the bottom hinge screws.

Remove the bracket screw.

Step 6

  • Unplug & loosen the antenna cables.
  • Remove the bracket screw.
  • Remove the bracket.
  • Unplug & loosen the display cable.

Unsnap the bezel around the keyboard.

Step 7

  • Turn the laptop over & open it up.
  • Unsnap the bezel around the keyboard.
Remove the keyboard.

Step 8

  • Remove the top keyboard screws.
  • Remove the keyboard.
Remove the keyboard.Remove the top keyboard screws.
Remove the top palmrest screws.

Step 9

  • Unplug & loosen the palmrest cables.
  • Remove the top palmrest screws.
  • Remove the palmrest.
Remove the top palmrest screws.Remove the palmrest.Unplug & loosen the palmrest cables.
Remove the display assembly.

Step 10

  • Remove the left & right hinge screws.
  • Remove the display assembly.
Remove the display assembly.Remove the left & right hinge screws.Remove the left & right hinge screws.
Unsnap the bezel around the edges of the screen.

Step 11

  • Open the laptop as wide as possible.
  • Unsnap the bezel around the edges of the screen.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Lift the screen & turn it over.
Unsnap the bezel around the edges of the screen.Remove the screws.
Remove the plastic spacer.

Step 12

  • Loosen the cable tape.
  • Remove the plastic spacer.
  • Lift the cable latch & unplug the LCD cable.
  • Remove the screen.
Remove the plastic spacer.Lift the cable latch & unplug the LCD cable.Remove the screen.Loosen the cable tape.
Remove the left & right hinge screws.

Step 13

  • Remove the left & right hinge screws.
