Installation and Removal Instructions
Dell Latitude E7240 CMOS Battery

Lift the battery out of the laptop.

Step 1

  • Slide the latch over to unlock the battery.
  • Lift the battery out of the laptop.

Slide the access door down.

Step 2

  • Remove the screws.
  • Slide the access door down.
  • Remove the access door.

Unplug the keyboard cable.

Step 3

  • Loosen the plastic cover.
  • Unplug the keyboard cable.
  • Remove the bottom keyboard screws.
Unplug the keyboard cable.Remove the bottom keyboard screws.Loosen the plastic cover.
Remove the screws.

Step 4

  • Remove the bottom palmrest screws.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Remove the hinge cover.
Remove the screws.Remove the hinge cover.Remove the bottom palmrest screws.
Unsnap the bezel around the keyboard.

Step 5

  • Turn the laptop over & open it up.
  • Unsnap the bezel around the keyboard.
Remove the keyboard.

Step 6

  • Remove the top keyboard screws.
  • Remove the keyboard.

Remove the top palmrest screws.

Step 7

  • Unplug & loosen the palmrest cables.
  • Remove the top palmrest screws.
  • Remove the palmrest.
Remove the top palmrest screws.Remove the palmrest.Unplug & loosen the palmrest cables.
Remove the screw.

Step 8

  • Unplug the cable.
  • Remove the screw.
  • Lift the circuit board & unplug the CMOS battery.
Remove the screw.Lift the circuit board & unplug the CMOS battery.Unplug the cable.Unplug the cable.
Remove the CMOS battery.

Step 9

  • Remove the CMOS battery.
