Installation and Removal Instructions
Inspiron 14R (N4010) DC Jack

Remove the battery.

Step 1

  • Slide the latches over to unlock the battery.
  • Remove the battery.

Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.

Step 2

  • Remove the screw.
  • Slide the optical drive out of the laptop.

Remove the access door.

Step 3

  • Loosen the screw.
  • Remove the access door.

Remove the middle hinge cover screws.

Step 4

  • Remove the screws under the battery.
  • Remove the middle hinge cover screws.
  • Remove the screws under the optical drive.

Remove the palmrest screws.

Step 5

  • Remove the bottom keyboard screws.
  • Remove the palmrest screws.
  • Turn the laptop over and open it up.

Carefully lift the keyboard and turn it over.

Step 6

  • Press the keyboard latches in.
  • Carefully lift the keyboard and turn it over.
  • Unplug the cable and remove the keyboard.

Unplug the palmrest cables.

Step 7

  • Remove the tape over the palmrest cables.
  • Unplug the palmrest cables.
  • Remove the palmrest.

Loosen the ground screw.

Step 8

  • Unplug the antenna cables.
  • Loosen the ground screw.
  • Unplug the LCD cable.

Remove the left hinge screws.

Step 9

  • Remove the right hinge screws.
  • Remove the left hinge screws.
  • Remove the LCD display assembly.

Carefully unsnap the middle hinge cover.

Step 10

  • Carefully unsnap the middle hinge cover.
Remove the screws.

Step 11

  • Unplug the cable.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Remove the circuit board.

Step 12

  • Unplug the cable.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Remove the fan.

Remove the bluetooth card.

  • Remove the screw.

Unplug the DC jack.

Step 14

  • Unplug the speakers.
  • Unplug the DC jack.

Remove the motherboard.

Step 15

  • Remove the motherboard screws.
