Installation and Removal Instructions
Latitude XT Heatsink / Fan

Slide the latches over and remove the battery.

Step 1

  • Slide the latches over and remove the battery.

Remove the access door.

Step 2

  • Loosen the screw.

Unplug the antenna cables.

Step 3

Remove the hinge cover.

Step 4

  • Remove the hinge cover screws.

Remove the bottom screws.

Step 5

  • Remove the bottom screws.
Remove the rear hinge screws.

Step 6

  • Remove the rear hinge screws.
Using a flat head screwdriver or plastic scribe, pry up the hinge cover.

Carefully lift the keyboard.

Step 8

  • Remove the screws.

Unplug the keyboard cables.

  • Unplug the keyboard cables.
Loosen the antenna cables.

Step 10

  • Unplug the display cable.

  • Remove the hinge screws.

Step 12

  • Unplug the palmrest cable.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Unsnap the palmrest from the base.

Step 13

  • Unplug the motherboard cables.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Remove the motherboard.

Remove the heatsink screws.

Step 14

  • Unplug the fan cable.
  • Remove the heatsink screws.
  • Remove the heatsink / fan.
