Installation and Removal Instructions
Inspiron 13z (5323) Motherboard

Loosen the screw.

Step 1

  • Loosen the screw.
  • Remove the access door.

Unplug the antenna cables.

Step 2

  • Unplug the antenna cables.
  • Remove the screw.
  • Remove the wireless WLAN card.

Remove the screw.

Step 3

  • Remove the screw.
  • Remove the solid state drive (SSD).
Remove the screw. Remove the solid state drive (SSD).
Separate the clips and remove the memory.

  • Separate the clips and remove the memory.

Remove the bottom screws.

Step 5

  • Remove the bottom screws.
Remove the keyboard screw on the bottom of the laptop.

Step 6

  • Remove the keyboard screw on the bottom of the laptop.
  • Turn the laptop over and open it up.
Press the 3 keyboard latches and loosen the keyboard.

Step 7

  • Press the 3 keyboard latches and loosen the keyboard.
Turn over the keyboard.

Step 8

  • Turn over the keyboard.
  • Unplug the keyboard cable.
Unplug the palmrest cables.

Step 9

  • Unplug the palmrest cables.
  • Remove the palmrest screws.
  • Remove the palmrest from the base.
Unplug the palmrest cables. Remove the palmrest screws.
Unplug the battery.

Step 10

  • Remove the battery screws.
  • Unplug the battery.
  • Remove the battery.

Remove the hard drive screws.

Step 11

  • Remove the hard drive screws.
  • Unplug the hard drive connector.
  • Remove the hard drive.
Remove the hard drive screws. Unplug the hard drive connector. Remove the hard drive.
Unplug the LED cable.

Step 12

  • Unplug the LED cable.
Remove the screw.

Step 13

  • Remove the screw.
  • Unplug the fan cable.
Remove the screw. Unplug the fan cable.
Unplug and loosen the LCD cable.

Step 14

  • Unplug and loosen the LCD cable.
Turn the motherboard over.

Step 15

  • Remove the motherboard screw.
  • Turn the motherboard over.
Remove the motherboard.

Step 16

  • Unplug the daughter board cable.
  • Remove the motherboard.
Remove the motherboard.Unplug the daughter board cable.
Unplug the hard drive cable.

Step 17

  • Unplug the hard drive cable.
Unplug the hard drive cable.Unplug the hard drive cable.
Remove the heatsink.

Step 18

  • Remove the heatsink screws.
  • Remove the heatsink.
Remove the heatsink.Remove the heatsink screws.
Installation note 1: Make sure to replace thermal compound or thermal pads on the CPU and heatsink.

Step 19

  • Installation note 1: Make sure to replace thermal compound or thermal pads on the CPU and heatsink.
  • Installation note 2: Tighten the heatsink screws in the order listed on the heatsink.
