Just received an Inspiron 15 3537 (i5 4200U) and the layout is extremely similar to the one in this article. I want to replace the HDD with an SSD but I’m not finding it possible to slide the HDD out using the tab. After removing the 2 hard drive screws and sliding/unplugging the drive, there is not enough of a gap to lift up the drive and angle it to remove it. Is it supposed to be very difficult? Does it require excessive force? I wouldn’t want to tear the tab but the plastic part that holds the hard drive screws is preventing me from lifting up the HDD. Any suggestions?

Never mind. I got it out. Since it all fits very snug, it just took more effort and a flat head screwdriver to carefully help lift the HDD up and out of bay.

Hi! After I loosen the access door cover screws, it lifted only in the nears of the screws and its not enough to grab and remove the access door. There is some trick with the screws or should i be bold and use a flat head screwdriver?

Try prying it up starting where the screws are and working your way around the edge of the door. It probably has some clips that are stuck that need a little persuading.

HP computers are duds, pure and simple. Printers and scanners HP is superior, but they no nothing about computers. I’ve had 2 HPs and all the usb ports came loose in one and the hard drive crashed in the other. I now own a Dell.
